We hope you will enjoy our plastic goats. We have several species, including both wild goats and domestic goats. In fact, domestic goats are a subspecies of wild goat that dates back over 8,500 years. Both are part of the genus Capra, which includes the markhor and several species of the ibex. While wild goats primarily live in mountainous terrain where they eat sparse vegetation and move around on bare rock, domestic goats primarily live on farms and ranches where, for the most part, they have it better. Used for their hair, milk, and meat, among other uses. Some species, such as the markhor are endngered. We may not think of it it when considering animal conservation, but there is also concern about loss of genetic diversity in intensively-bred domestic goats. |
