Our Orangutan plush Stuffed Animal Our charming baby stuffed orangutan will warm the heart of any primate lover, especially if those primates are orangutans. It sits 12 inches tall from the ground to the top of its rusty-orange head, and it sits upright. Our stuffed orangutan is roly-poly and playful. Its forehead and nose are made of very soft plush fabric, as are its hands and feet. The orangutan's deep brown eyes are made of plastic that almost looks real as they reflect highlights from the room. The orangutans (also spelled orang-utan, orangutang, or orang-utang) are three extant species of great apes native to Indonesia and Malaysia. Orangutans are currently only found in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. Classified in the genus Pongo, orangutans were originally considered to be one species. From 1996, they were divided into two species: the Bornean orangutan (P. pygmaeus, with three subspecies) and the Sumatran orangutan.
