Product Description
Asian Elephant Plastic Toy Our small plastic Asian elephant is made of solid, sturdy plastic and makes a great gift for any nature lover!
With an ancestry that dates back to the Pliocene Epoch of 5.33 to 2.58 million years ago, the Asian elephant stands supreme as the largest living land animal in Asia. As the only living member of the genus Elephas, Asian elephants are distributed across Southeast Asia from India to Borneo. There are three subspecies that are currently recognized. They are the endangered Sri Lankan elephant, the Indian elephant, and the critically endangered Sumatran elephant, native to the island of Sumatra. Asian elephants tend to be a bit smaller than African elephants, with most males coming in no more than 9 feet tall at the shoulder and females usually just over 7 feet tall. From nose to tail, the bodies are usually anywhere from 18 to 21 feet. Obviously, our model is considerably shorter at just three inches long. Just the tail itself beats our model easily as most run from just under 4 feet to almost 5 feet long. That means, if you are an adult human, most of your height is the same as an Asian elephant
